Sometimes we lose sight of what’s really important in life. We get wrapped up in our work and let everything else suffer. The people we care about most are the ones who are forgotten.
We often turn away from people or things dearest to us and become self-centered. We lose sight of our humble beginnings, and become indifferent and insensitive to the happenings around us.
It is important to never forget where you have been. Never lose sight of what means the most to you. And never take for granted the people who travel the journey with you.
As regards our faith, when things are going well in our lives, we easily forget that we still need God to guide us. Never lose your desperation for God. Don’t seek His face only in bad times.
It is time to hit the “Priorities change” button if you have forgotten about or neglecting the things that are valuable in life. It shouldn’t take a tragedy to remind us of what’s really important in life.
Do you need to change anything?
Give some thought about your life and relationships. What do you want out of the people you surround yourself with? What do you want to do for others? What do you want out of your life? Ask yourself why you chose these things as priorities, and question whether or not they should be.
There may be a few things that need to change. If your family mean a lot to to you, then you must realize it is important to spend quality time with them. You will have to make some sacrifices.
Little things can become big things and big things can become little things. It is all a thing of perspective. Where is your heart? What means the most to you?
You need to try as much as possible to live every single day according to your priorities, and you need to keep reminding yourself of what truly matters to you.
It is not about acquiring things or coming home with a huge paycheck. It is spending each day doing what you love, showing your loved ones how much you care, working on ways to improve yourself and helping others in ways you can.
At your funeral, no one is going to talk about your expensive house or nice shoes.
